I want to take a moment and acknowledge an amazing change here at SLM: as you all know, Melissa Libbey was taken on as our first intern starting on June 6th, with the internship set to end on August 12th.

I started asking myself, what if we don’t want it to end? She’s become invaluable to me and to the work that I’ve done and continue to do for Sick Lit Magazine and its future as a truly unique, insightful literary journal. She’s type A where I’m type B, organized where I’m unorganized, and full of ideas. Like I’ve said before, she’s the one who helped me make lemonade out of all my lemons.

CONGRATULATIONS!! Everyone, please take some time if you can and congratulate Melissa and properly welcome her to the team.

We work together so well it’s insane — and it also blows the 8 – 5 work day in a cube theory out the window. We work together remotely while I’m in Texas and she’s in New Jersey.

Melissa will be staying on here at Sick Lit Magazine as my partner; we will continue to work together to make SLM better and things will continue to improve, improve and improve some more. I will remain the CEO and Editor-in-Chief while Melissa will be our Senior Editor.

Organizationally, things won’t change (for now) in terms of submissions. You will still send all submissions to: sicklitsubmissions@gmail.com , to which either Melissa or I will respond to just like we’ve been doing.

Onto the contest information!

Melissa and I have decided to run another contest for themes to round out the year, October, November and December of 2016.

Please, e-mail us your proposed theme to the submissions e-mail above and write CONTEST in the subject line of your e-mail — failure to put CONTEST will probably result in your e-mail becoming buried.

Cheers, guys.

  1. I’ve been surfing online more than 4 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article
like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all webmasters and bloggers made
good content as you did, the web will be much more useful than ever before.
