Living Gems
Lullabies I sang to them
All knit I with the same glue
I watched them grow from a distance clear
Many times with a shattered heart,
I feared
I taught them how to sing and dance
I played as their sibling in the sand
But with the moments fleeting by
Each parting goodbye was a resounding cry within my heart
And knew too well
Also within theirs
To grow with love and beauty dears
I pray that you would.
And one day learn,
The mystery of our broken home
Then yet forgive a mother’s stand
To have her children grow with peace of mind!
Her Strength in me
Mother, your love never left.
For each day it came dazzling through my fractured soul
To soothe me from the taint of wrongs
They have piled upon my pretty gown.
When I am bowed in despair
In my blood, you stir
Making me know you are here.
And in your strength I slowly rise
Facing another day,
To my surprise!

She was everything he needed
He mused how it all came together
Yet unable to understand its entirety
His acceptance was real
Her laughter
It was a delightful sound he had missed
This too, was a kiss
A kiss to his heart, which warmed and stirred his own joy
He smiled, eyes glassy as he was intoxicated by her aura
By her unique stare, by the way she ate and by things she didn’t say
He simply sought balance… and in her, this he had found.
