Reckless Heart
Twilight finds me cold and worn
Longing for the warmth of peace
I am weary, yet I dare not rest
For I came chasing my fleeting heart
It is her habit to rush ahead
She tirelessly flutters hope’s rhythm
Charmed by the breeze of empty promise
Though I’ve warned her of chasing rainbows
Through deceit’s enchanting lands
She is driven with dauntless desire
To feel the warmness of want
Blinded by her ravenous cravings
To be enraptured in illusional love
She naively seeks her own demise
She kisses the hungry lips of lions
Who conspire to devour her completely
So I sit freezing by the waters edge
Waiting to pull her tattered corpse
from the river of broken dreams
Hollow Eyes
I’ve exhausted all efforts to reach you
Weary of reading scripts of my soul
Shouting into the winds of disregard
Angry echoes return a cyclones rage
Blasting hopeless fragments in lonely space
Your words, the whispers of ghosts
Ice cold shrills of dead breath
You played the harp strings of my heart
recklessly plucking with rapacious fury
Snapping and severing the fragile shreds
Smiling as bloody remnants fall away
Dripping puddles of disappointment
Tears streak dirty rivers down my pallid face
Falling empty into your hollow stare of disdain
I tear out my own eyes to elude your cold glare.
Raging Storm
The storm rages wildly now
Lightning blazes ferociously across the seamless ebony sky
Shining her beacon on the secrets hidden in this sumerian night
I watch the rain stream sweetly,
Engaged in shadow play with the streetlights
My skin is kissed in delicate pellets of earth scented love
Cool drops waken the deadness within
I am entranced in this beauty
Memories floodgates are released
I drift uncontrollably to you
The wind carries your voice
It whispers softly in my ear
I wonder if you are awake right now
A world away
Lost in your own slice of glory sky
You see my face in the moon
You are consumed in me as my heart in you
You recall the moment our lips met
Passion crashed like thunder
You touched my silky skin
Electricity surged through your fingertips
Flooding your entirety in my essence
Our hearts synched
I breathed you in to my every cell
To live these moments again
I would burn down heaven and dance with hell
