Motherhood – Part II
This is your body
soft like a pillow
like the place
she would want
to lay her head
and dream
how easy to make her smile
with the fullness of your curves
This is your body
its scars make up a map
she reads like Braille
this is where you fell of your bike
this is where you bruised your heart
this is where she came to you
how comforting to know
she can never be lost
in the shelter of your arms
This is your body
it aches like an open wound
it squeaks and cracks
like worn-out parts
it lifts her up
the lightest weight
you’ve ever born
how effortless it is
to carry your heart in your hands

Heart-warming piece. There is something about the gesture of the words, something akin to Mother Nature’s embracing arms… there is something, Thank you.
