The Sky and the Ocean
*For my beloved friend, S
She is the sky, and I am the ocean
Some say we are forever apart,
I scoff, pointing to the horizon and ask,
praytell, where does she end and I begin?
The clouds that glide across her,
are created from the depths of my body.
She flirts with my clouds endlessly,
until I burst forth with intense electricity.
Our love echoed in the roaring thunder
her wind making it heard around the world
As the water trickles back to me,
her lips touch upon my horizon.
Soon, our lovemaking begins anew
For she is the sky and I am the ocean
Plucking The Daisy
In his palm lay a daisy,
its velvet white petals playing with his emotions
Some hurt him, some overwhelm with joy,
Playing this childish game, he surely is crazy.
He rips them apart mercilessly,
blind to his destructive actions to flora,
Plucking the petals, he smiled and frowned rhythmically,
“This will prove she loves me” he thought erroneously.
The daisy breathed its last,
as the once white petals lay on the muddy path,
all but one, bringing an end to brutality.
“She loves me not”, he spoke aghast.
Herein he realizes his fallacy
Love doesn’t lie in petals of flowers,
Plucking them brings just death and misery,
And mother nature wishes humans stop this lunacy.
