On Twitter, I’d asked your permission if I could make a collage out of your words of support and encouragement – when I got them all together, there were too many to fit into a collage. So I had to do a slideshow. I hope that this shows you how much I was doing this for all of you. I hope that this shows you how dedicated I was to this magazine because of you. Everything you’ve said to me is treasured. All the compliments you’ve given have been sincere and that was the outcome I was hoping for.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. You have no idea how much your words mean.
Signing off again,
Over and out,
Kelly
Bless you! I hope that you start to feel strong and well again soon.
HUGS!
Christine

I wish you all the best. You were the first magazine outside of my undergrad to accept my work and you made me feel that all of the time I spent writing was worth it. I’m sad to see Sick Lit end but I’m hopeful someone will strive to be you and take on the magazine. Thank you so much for being you.

I’m not going away forever. If I do continue to run SLM, I’m changing submission guidelines to avoid my own burnout. There’s nothing more defeating than getting through a 24 page piece , start typing an acceptance, only to be interrupted by that same person saying it’s been accepted elsewhere.
